(mostly old-vines garnacha and carinena, with bits of syrah, merlot and cabernet sauvignon; aged for 12 months in large French oak casks):  Bright ruby-red.  Pungent aromas of ripe red fruit, rose and white pepper, with a note of smoky minerality gaining strength with air.  Fresh and lively on the palate, with intense black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors lifted by a subtle orange pith.  Juicy, appealingly sweet and focused, showing very good energy and lift to the smooth, subtly tannic finish.
