91 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - September/October 2009

($47; 100% tempranillo) Bright ruby. A complex bouquet displays red- and blackcurrant, mocha, anise and tobacco, with a suave mineral underpinning. Juicy, finely focused raspberry and black cherry flavors are nicely concentrated and pure, with a smoky note adding complexity. The tobacco and cherry notes repeat on the gently sweet and persistent finish. This is more graceful than the brawnier 2004.
