($42) Medium red. Redcurrant, dried cherry and rhubarb on the nose, with a touch of smoky peat. Firm red fruit flavors show a faintly smoky quality and notes of anise, cracked pepper and smoked meat. A bit tight on the back; this wine's low-key smokiness makes me wonder if these grapes were affected by the wildfires of 2008.
