2006 Titus Petite Sirah Napa Valley

The vines of Titus Vineyard were planted when current proprietors Phillip and Eric were still in high school. A generation later, they carefully tend to the Napa estate established by their parents Lee and Ruth. Now Eric manages the vineyards and the business, while Philip mans the cellars. Here he bottles Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, as well as Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. But almost as important are the underheralded blending grapes-- Malbec and Petit Verdot, for example-- which impart structure, color and raciness to the all of the wines crafted by Philip. Eric's low-intensity farming techniques in the vines deserve mention too.
