When it comes to uncovering the finest and most obscure old-vine vineyard sites in northern California, few do it better than Matt Cline. Having started his career at his brother's Oakley winery in  1982, Matt began establishing his reputation with grapes like Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Mataro while serving as winemaker at Cline Cellars. Now that he's set out on his own with his current project, Three, Matt continues to track down patches of old vines across Contra Costa and the Russian River Valley, and follows discovery by locking down the grapes through long-term contracts.
