Energetic aromas of black raspberry, cherry-cola, incense and fresh violet, with a strong smoky quality adding complexity. Juicy dark berry flavors are given spine by a nervy mineral quality and framed by silky tannins. Expands with air and leaves sweet floral pastille and spicecake notes behind on the extremely persistent finish. For a rich wine this is remarkably graceful.
