About Maison Chapoutier

Maison Chapoutier, the first négociant and producer to mark their bottlings with braille, was established in 1879 by Polydor Chapoutier. The business has remained family owned since then and is now run by Michel Chapoutier. His hands off approach to winemaking has lead to a resurgence in quality at Maison Chapoutier, which now produces some of the finest wines in the Rhone region of France.

($175) Vivid purple. Pungent, high-toned aromas of black raspberry, cherry-cola, spices and herbs. Juicy, smoky and spicy, with smoothly integrated acidity giving an impression of energy to its sweet dark berry flavors. Finishes brisk, with good bite and lingering spiciness.
