($30) Full, deep ruby. Brooding aromas of crushed blackberry, bitter chocolate and licorice spiced by oak; not yet expressive. Then supple and spicy in the mouth, with a restrained sweetness and a lightly medicinal character. At once less lush and less vibrant than the Blend 1, finishing with dustier, more serious tannins.
