Deep ruby. High-pitched aromas of raspberry, cracked pepper and violet. Then rich, creamy and penetrating, with compelling sweetness to the flavors of black raspberry, cherry compote and candied flowers. Leans more toward 2007 in style than most '08s, characterized by lush, seamless texture and a long, gently tannic finish. (Sussex Wine Merchants, Moorestown, NJ)

This is a wonderfully smooth drinking wine. We opened a bottle and the consensus was "delicious." Mid-body, full flavor, smooth finish. Velvet in a bottle.

I looked forward to this enough to order a case since I generally love the Papes. But this one is light, a little watery, not really up to a Trader Joe's bottle which is had for less money and hassle. One of my few disappointments from WA.
