88 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - January/February 2011

($48; 90% grenache, 5% syrah, 3% mourvedre and 2% carignan, raised in a combination of concrete vats and large old wooden casks) Ruby-red. R aspberry, smoky herbs, licorice and rose on the nose. Then sweet, supple and smoky in the mouth, with flavors of red berries and floral pastilles. The gently spicy finish displays fine-grained tannins and attractive spice and floral notes. I find this wine quite open-knit and ready to drink.
