($55; from a granite-soil vineyard near Serrieres) Vivid ruby. Smoky red and dark berries on the nose, with complicating notes of licorice and black olive. Tight and refreshingly brisk on the palate, offering lively black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors along with gentle smokiness. Finishes brisk, with firm mineral cut and very good clarity.
