($35) Bright, deep ruby-red. Lively aromas of crushed berries, spicecake, licorice and flowers. At once creamy and firm, with a crushed fruit urgency accentuated by pepper and herbs and framed by an edge of acidity. The oak element here seems a bit more intrusive than in the 2006 version, giving the finish a slight toughness.
