($28) Bright red. Aromas of sour cherry, crushed berries and violet. More structured and penetrating than the Fontanazza, with a firm acid/tannin spine contributing a rather powerful structure. This really coats the mouth and echoes on the aftertaste. The deep root system of these pre-phylloxera vines no doubt is responsible for the wine's backbone and energy.
