89 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - March 2010

($40; 100% chiavennasca) Good, amber-tinged red. Musky, reduced aromas of plum, red cherry and underbrush, plus a dusty quality that dissipated with air. Full and round in the mouth, with plum jam and tar flavors in need of a bit more verve. Finishes with substantial tongue-dusting tannins and sweet fruit.
