About Dehlinger Winery
Founded in 1973 by Tom Dehlinger, a UC Davis graduate, Dehlinger Winery has a rep for quality not quantity. Production here has topped out at about 7,000 cases per vintage, a figure that has risen steadily since the initial 14 acres were planted in 1975.

($50) Inky purple. Powerful, high-pitched aromas of boysenberry compote, blackcurrant and dried flowers. Lush dark fruit flavors possess liqueur-like depth but are surprisingly lithe, with gentle mineral lift and cut on the back half. Seductively sweet and expansive cabernet, finishing with impressive breadth and penetration. (JR)
