Bright ruby-red.  Crystalled black cherry, cassis, licorice, dark chocolate and caramel on the nose.  Dense and lush but more saline than fruity today.  Big tannins spread out to saturate the palate, but the finish does not come across as dry or phenolic.  This has the sneaky mid-palate sweetness to support the substantial tannins.
