($60) Good deep red. Perfumed nose and palate offer strawberry, cola, mocha and underbrush, plus a lightly caramelized quality; lots of soil character here. At once sweet and energetic, with a lovely light touch contributing to the impression of lift. A very graceful, juicy and expressive pinot with excellent definition. With all the attention being paid these days to the Sonoma Coast and points north, it's too easy to forget about the best pinot noir sites of Carneros.
