($30) Bright gold. A suave, complex bouquet of lemongrass, white cherry and oyster shell aromas, plus a hint of peppery spices. Juicy, focused citrus and underripe orchard fruit flavors stain the palate and repeat the oyster shell note. A smoky iodine quality defines the tangy, mineral-driven finish. I like this intense, stony style, which is definitely not about the fruit.
