90 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2010

($72; a blend of cabernet sauvignon, syrah and merlot) Dark ruby. Blackcurrant, underbrush, graphite and smoky oak on the nose. Then ripe, sweet and full in the mouth, with a lush texture and considerable density to its plum, black cherry and vanilla flavors. Nicely balanced, ripe, fleshy wine, finishing with good breadth and length. As successful as this wine is, a taste of Le Cinciole's Chiantis makes it clear how much more interesting the sangiovese-based wines are in the right terroir (Marc de Grazia; numerous importers, including Michael Skurnik Wines, Syosset, NY; Robert Houde Wines, Bensenville, IL; and Estate Wines Ltd., San Rafael, CA)
