($48) Bright red. Redcurrant, wild strawberry, licorice and minerals on the nose. Then juicy, spicy and penetrating in the mouth, with lovely cut and intensity to the sour redcurrant and red cherry flavors. Finishes pure and very long, but without quite the concentration or vibrancy I would have expected from such a great vintage. Still, it's a superb example of sangiovese.
