The name of this domain is a little unfair. In reality, it masks a team effort between Etienne -- the oldest brother in this Sancerre family, who tends the immaculate hillside vineyards -- and his younger brother Bertrand, who oversees the cellar, just as he's been doing since we first met them in 1983.

Subtle,
pure aromas of grapefruit pith, pepper and salty minerality; there's
something saké-like about the nose of this wine. Then tactile, spicy
and intense in the mouth, with rich grapefruit and ginger flavors and
very good zip for a Sancerre from this warm year. The persistent finish
is savory, complex and bracing.

Bought this after loving the 2008. Very similar to the 2008, maybe a bit louder (riper?). Definitely needs a little bit of time to unwind - this will improve for a few years.

Used to the bigger names in Sanceree like Bourgeois and Girard but this was up there. Nice acidity and wondefully smooth.
Apple, Citrus, and Mineral

Pale. Nose of grass, citrus, and apple. Taste of apple and grapefruit. Striking minerality and acid. Persists in the mouth. Well balanced. I like this wine and intend to watch for the next time the producer is featured. It will be fun to see what this does of the next year or two. Excellent.

color. Stone fruit on the nose. Crisp tart fruit with high mineral content. Terrific food wine or an everyday sipper.

Happy with this purchase. Not the best Sancerre we've had but worth the money. Would buy more of the 2009 and try the 2010.
