($75) Vivid red. A suave, intensely fragrant bouquet evokes dried red berries, cherry skin, allspice and fresh rose, with a bright note of blood orange adding urgency. Shows darker fruits on the palate: sweet black raspberry and cherry perked up by a subtle peppery quality. Fine-grained and precise pinot with excellent finishing clarity, cut and spicy persistence. Very much in the house style, with no excess fat. This will age well on balance and is one of the standouts of the vintage.
