($45) Bright ruby-red. Cherry-cola, blackberry, anise and dried violet on the nose, with subtle smoke and Indian spice qualities adding complexity. Broad, fleshy dark berry flavors are nicely framed by tangy minerality and fine-grained tannins, which are absorbed by the fruit on the back end. Finishes with excellent clarity and fruit-driven persistence. Structured to evolve slowly but there's also a lot of expressive dark fruit that will allow for mid-term, guilt-free drinking. This vineyard is one of the rare Oregon sites that is planted completely to the Wadensvil clone.
