About Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin
Benoit Droin represents the 14th Droin generation to make wine in Chablis. The family has been here, making wine, for nearly five centuries, dating all the way back to 1620. Since 2002, however, the estate has taken new form; Domain Jean-Paul and Benoit Droin was formed officially in 2002.
89 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - July/August 2011
Strong oak on the nose overpowers aromas of pear and rocks. Rather massive but a bit diffuse on the palate, with moderate definition to the ripe peach flavor. More impressive for its volume than its precision or typicity. Finishes a bit aggressive. Incidentally, 2007 was the last vintage in which this grand cru was made from old vines.
