About Domaine William Fevre
Fevre was once good. Now it's great. In fact, the improvement of this house is one of the most exciting developments in Chablis in the past 20 years. The ownership of the Henriot family of Champagne, which also owns Bouchard Père et Fils in Beaune, has resulted in a striking transformation.
2009 Domaine William Fevre Chablis Montmains
Producer: Domaine William Fevre
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
88 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2011
Pale green-yellow. Menthol, white pepper and a mineral note on the slightly reduced nose. Brisk but quite closed in the middle palate, with a distinct metallic minerality dominating. A bit hard to warm to. (Incidentally, I rated the Chablis Domaine 88 points at the beginning of June, vs. 87 a year ago, as this newer sample showed lovely peachy fruit and a ripe, firm finish.)
