About Louis Michel & Fils
In six generations of winemaking here in Chablis, the Michel family has developed a no nonsense approach. You won't find the distracting presence of oak in these immaculate Chardonnays, because no wood is used in their cellaring.
2009 Louis Michel & Fils Chablis Butteaux Vieilles Vignes
Producer: Louis Michel & Fils
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
90 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2011
Bright pale yellow. Ripe yellow fruits, minerals and smoke on the nose, with a hint of marzipan emerging with aeration. Round and plump but with nicely integrated acidity giving it more shape than the basic Butteaux bottling. Slightly dry, phenolic finish conveys a tannic impression. No shortage of structure here.
