Opaque purple. Dense, brooding aromas of dark berry compote, cherry pit and cassis, with notes of black cardamom, cola and licorice gaining strength with air. Chewy blackberry and bitter cherry flavors are framed by solid tannins and brightened by notes of black pepper and smoky Indian spices. Shockingly lively and focused for such a large-scaled wine. Fresher and more red-fruity on the finish, which echoes the spicy notes and hangs on tenaciously.
