Good bright red. Initially subdued nose offers nuances of raspberry, plum, violet and minerals, plus a captivating suggestion of Asian spices. Ripe, broad and sweet, with a more open-knit texture and considerably more volume to the red berry flavors than the normale or the Sciaranuova. Finishes with velvety tannins and lingering spicy sweetness. This is the Contrada bottling that will appeal more to those looking for a fleshier, fruitier style of wine.
