Fresh and complex, a good expression of its tufarous origins, this Nerello Mascalese- Nerello Cappuccio is unfiltered and well balanced. The nose is mildly perfumed, gives off traces of cherries, smoke, dry herbs, and some earthy truffles. Defined layers of plums and dark berries dominate the mid-palate. This is walking along a fine line of rustic and polished, to good effect.
