($24) Bright medium ruby. Superripe, slightly high-toned aromas of blackberry, chocolate and licorice, plus a suggestion of molasses. Sweet, lush and easygoing, with a slightly roasted character. Has just enough shape but doesn't quite equal the other 2008 Owen Roe syrahs for floral lift or definition. Finishes with firm, dusty tannins.
