2009 Jean-Marc & Hugues Pavelot Savigny-les-Beaune Les Gravains
Producer: Jean-Marc & Hugues Pavelot
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Pinot Noir
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Cote de Beaune
89-92 Points | International Wine Cellar , January/February 2011
Bright full red. Slight gamey reduction to the scented aromas of black cherry and curry powder. Large-scaled and mouthfilling Savigny, with dark cherry, cassis, violet and licorice flavors complemented by full-blown soil tones. Big, chewy and rich, with a classically dry, chocolatey finish featuring broad, palate-dusting tannins. Offers uncommon mouth coverage for a wine from Savigny-and the highest in pH of this set at 3.6-but not cooked for all its ripeness.
