Medium red.  Complex, loamy aromas of strawberry, plum, dried rose and smoky underbrush, with hints of chocolate and game:  this could only be from Burgundy.  Suave and silky in the mouth, but showing a more evolved character than most of the other Cote de Nuits 2009s at this address, with earth, spice and game flavors complemented by smoky minerality.  Finishes slightly edgy, with dusty tannins and moderate lift.  Is this vibrant enough now to reward aging?
