($23; roughly 60% sangiovese and 40% cabernet sauvignon) Bright, dark red. Musky redcurrant, licorice and herbs on the nose. Juicy and bright, with good poise and focus to its red fruit and tobacco flavors. Finishes long and smooth, offering more vinosity and elegance than body or power. This highly satisfying midweight offers above-average complexity for an entry-level wine.
