($45; includes 20% merlot) Good medium ruby-red. Captivating nose melds black plum, coffee, mocha and sexy brown spices. Juicy, sweet and nicely filled in (the merlot influence?); a plush, suave wine with an attractive black raspberry flavor dominating. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and sneaky length. This has to be the best cabernet yet under this label-not to mention the most consistently excellent set of releases to date from Gramercy Cellars.
