(83% syrah, 10% grenache, 5% mourvedre and 2% viognier):  Sexy perfume of dark berries and smoky oak, with a whiff of white fruits.  Sweet, pliant and complex, with excellent intensity to the dark cherry and spice flavors.  A seriously structured, tightly wound wine that finishes with dusty tannins, very good length and a hint of tomato leaf.

The workhorse wine and first release from Rasa, the QED is a complex wine that is "proof" that the Naravane brothers are poised to become wine stars. 83% Syrah from Les Collines and Double River vineyards is blended with 10% Grenache, a touch of Mourvedre and a drop ov Viognier that lends an intriguing floral note. Syrah never had it so good and this wine has it all: luscious raspberry fruit, lilac, baking spice, cassis, dark chocolate and plums. Long finishing and ripe tannin infused this is supple, wonderful Syrah to drink now through 2016. Region: Walla Walla Valley, Washington Grapes: 83% Syrah, 10% Grenache, 5% Mourvedre & 2% Viognier Vinification: 19 months French oak (22% new) Drink: Now - 2016 Cuisie: Rack of Lamb, Grilled Ribeye ABV: 14.4%

Syrah

While the grape is currently grown throughout the world, the most elegant Syrahs still come from the Northern Rhone valley, particularly the appellations of Côte Rôtie, Cornas, and Hermitage. Here, steep, terraced vineyards help produce full-bodied, intense, tannic wines loaded with white pepper and red fruit. In the vineyard, Syrah is largely cooperative- vines are productive, but not overly vigorous. Skins are thick, helping the grape...
