($66; a unique 50/50 blend of sangiovese and syrah) Deep ruby. Reticent but complex nose offers red- and blackcurrant, smoke, wilted rose and tobacco. Juicy, sweet and perfumed in the mouth, with very good clarity and focus to the flavors of dark berries, sweet tobacco and smoky herbs. This youthfully imploded wine gains heft with aeration and finishes on a sweet, expansive, smoky note. Let this rest for a couple of years.
