About Trio Infernal

Trio Infernal, set on old vines in the Spanish Catalan appellation of Priorat, is the brain child of three of the Rhone Valley's most talented producers: Jean-Michel Gerin (Cote Rotie), Peter Fischer (Coteaux D'Aix) and Laurent Combier (Crozes Hermitage). Bright, full red.  Enticing aromas of raspberry, black cherry, minerals and musky dark spices.  Supple, rich and concentrated, with plenty of seamless early appeal for a Priorat wine.  This perfumed, pure, fruit-driven wine features a healthy dollop of grenache.  The strong, building finish dusts the palate with fine tannins.  The three French winemakers behind this venture also offer more expensive and structured Priorat wines but this junior version offers classy early drinking, with none of the rusticity that can be shown by wines from this dynamic appellation in Catalonia.

Priorats are an earthy delight, sumptuous, so full of character. This was a superb accompaniment to the rack of lamb at last night's dinner...no, wait...the lamb was a superb accompaniment to this exquisite wine!

Grenache (aka Garnacha)

One of the more versatile red grapes in the world, Grenache thrives in southern France and Spain (where it is known as Garnacha). Ranging in style from light and fruity to deep, brooding and intense; the grape also suits a variety of ambitions: Grenache can be used in inexpensive wines that offer immediate satisfaction, but it is also successful...
