91(+?) Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2010

($52; aged in a 50/50 blend of new French and American barriques Vivid ruby. Crushed raspberry, candied licorice and Asian spices on the highly fragrant nose. Extremely primary and deep, with a medicinal cast to the powerful but very backward flavors of red fruit preserves and smoky minerals. Assertively fruity but also structured, with a long, sweet finish that features fine-grained tannins and lingering smokiness.
