About Domaine Weinbach
Domaine Weinbach was established in 1610 by the Capuchin monks who also gave their name to the domaine's most prized vineyard, Clos des Capucins. The estate itself got the name Weinbach--which literally translates to "wine brook"--from a little stream that trickles through the property.
90 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2010
($39) Pale-medium yellow. Reticent aromas of stone fruits, caraway seed and flowers. Broad, lush, silky and sweet (43 g/l r.s.), with harmonious acidity and a tactile impression of extract giving shape to the wine and nicely buffering its 14% alcohol. This broad, full wine finishes quite smooth and long, with little in the way of phenolic bitterness.
