($35) Bright ruby. Very sexy, high-toned aromas of strawberry, raspberry and Asian spices. Smells a lot like a ripe pinot noir and tastes like one too. Very fresh, with silky texture, and a late note of white pepper adds cut. Becomes sweeter with air and finishes with impressive cling and resonating red fruit and floral notes. This wine reminded me of how very young vines can deliver a real wallop of sweet, concentrated flavor the first couple of years they produce fruit.
