($35; 70% syrah, 15% mourvedre and 15% grenache; 15.5% alcohol) Glass-staining purple. Black raspberry and cherry-cola on the nose, with complicating notes of graphite, mocha and incense. Sappy red and dark berry preserve flavors show very good depth and pick up a suave floral pastille quality with air. Open-knit and approachable now, this blend finishes with impressive clarity and spicy persistence. This is the value play here this vintage.
