Expert Reviews

90 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2010

($42; 13.5% alcohol, 50 g/l r.s. and 4.7 acidity) Pale straw-yellow. Discreet aroma of pineapple, with subtle notes of brown spices, violet and white pepper emerging with aeration; not a smoky or meaty style of gew u rztraminer. A step up in concentration from the Steingrubler, with a higher pitch and more energy to its pineapple fruit. Rather gentle, harmonious acidity gives the wine a juicy quality and a light touch. Longer and more intense on the aftertaste than the Steingrubler.
