This was my first experience with u.s. sangiovese and I was pleasantly surprised. It's my holiday gift wine. Had it w chicken and pasta in white wine sauce. Will probably order another case.
Happily Surprised

Bought this bottle as a top off, then read the reviews and was worried. Happy to report we used an aerator and thoroughly enjoyed this bottle with an Italian dinner.I would definitely but it again.

First bottle was OK, but we waited this time and let it breath. What a surprise! The aromas, fruit, and finish really came out nicely with time. Made buying an aerator worth it!

A very good wine for the price, bold, fruity, but quite a bit of sediment to get through
Our "go to" wine for any gathering.

THE BEST medium-bodied red wine you will find. Appeals to everyone -- guys, ladies, sophisticates, even our beloved "just gimme the red or the white" kinda friends, this one is a winner. Serve it with steak, roast turkey or anything in a pasta sauce. Amazing value, too. Take a bottle to a bud's house for dinner and watch the eyeballs roll. Guaranteed to get you a second date.
Good value

Bright red color, some fruitiness in aroma and taste, smooth, lots of body, some tannins. Not complex. Not enough berries, or character to be an outstanding Sangiovese; but a good wine for the money.

a so-so red wine requiring chilling to cut the sweet.
this was not mentioned in the offer for sale.
Not the Best

I have had plenty of great wine with good to great value. THis one was one of my least favorites. I think just too tannic for me.
Restrained upon opening, gets better over time

Good wine, gets better with more air. Keeps improving over 2 days in the bottle
Drinkable but this is no Brunello

I was disappointed with this light and rather generic red wine particularly because of the big build up it got here as an American Brunello. Anyone anticipating the depth, richness and complexity of a Brunello from this wine will be disappointed. It lacks the sharp fresh dry characters of a good Italian Rosso as well. At this price, it has tons of competition you do not have to wait to have shipped to you. I would pass next time.
Not so good

I love Stolpman wines and I am a huge fan of this Winery. I have visited and buy every offer. I new this was a gamble - sometimes that pays off, sometimes it doesn't. This wine doesn't taste bad but there is something wrong with the case I received. Many of the bottles turn cloudy about half way through drinking it. Not sure if it was damaged in shipping or if it just wasn't bottled properly. Anyhow, this one didn't pay off.
Not up to what the WA review stated

I found this wine to be a disappointment. With a screw top, and a fairly thin and some what short presentation. OK I guess for a warm-up to the main event, but certainly not representative of the WA review
