Bright ruby. Cherry preserves, black raspberry and Asian spices on the nose, with complicating notes of sassafras and mocha. Plush, palate-coating cherry and dark berry flavors are lifted and given clarity by tangy acidity. Picks up a violet pastille nuance that carries through a clinging, appealingly sweet and very long finish. This could handle richer red meat dishes.
