Still Excellent, or better, Vacqueyras

Well, it has been nearly a year since I opened the first one and rated it 4 stars. Two more have disappeared in the interim without my making any tasting notes, but after nearly a year I thought I ought to open another one and write a note. Still wonderful on the nose with some lavender, garrigue and blackberry. On the palate, it has come together and is wonderfully fruity and smooth with a nice long finish and smooth, well integrated tannin. Really nice! I'm calling it five stars, but it is really probably 4.6 or so. I could pickle myself drinking this!

This is an excellent Xavier Vacqueyras. Delicious black berry and dark fruit bomb. Drinking well now with aging potential if I can keep my hands off it. Better than most of the 2007 CNPs that I have tried and the better than Xavier's 2007 portfolio (Gigondas and CNP.) Nice find!

The review in the offer is accurate. This is an excellent wine; thoroughly enjoyable now, and will be even better in a year or two. I'm glad I bought a case, and almost regret not buying two. Very, very nice!
