Dark ruby. Black and blue fruits on the powerful, smoky nose. Lush and seamless on the palate, offering juicy blackberry and cherry flavors complicated by notes of candied flowers and licorice. Soft tannins add shape to the finish, which is broad, sweet and impressively long. This wine is surprisingly approachable now but has good aging potential. Burgaud predicts that it will be at its best around 2016.
