Medium dark red.  Aromas of currant and spicy oak.  Sweet and firm, with a light medicinal aspect to the flavors of currant, black cherry and red licorice.  A nicely balanced midweight with moderate length and good verve.  Riper than the basic merlot bottling under the Novelty Hill label.
