Bright purple. Lively red berry aromas gain depth and power with air, taking a turn to blueberry and boysenberry. Sappy and expansive, offering sweet red and dark berry preserve flavors and a sexy note of spice cake. Silky and precise, with very good finishing clarity and persistent spiciness. This new bottling is made from the estate's young vines and is meant to be drunk young but Balthazar thinks that it will age well on its balance.

While the grape is currently grown throughout the world, the most elegant Syrahs still come from the Northern Rhone valley, particularly the appellations of Côte Rôtie, Cornas, and Hermitage.
