About Araujo Estate

Since 1990, Bart and Daphne Araujo have carried on the tradition of making monster Cabernets from the Eisele Vineyard, adding Syrah into the mix as well. Their flagship bottling is dense, powerful and rich, typically with soil-inflected notes of plum, mocha, tobacco and smoke, and very suave tannins.

Good bright red-ruby.  Enticing, nuanced aromas of black cherry, licorice, graphite and flowers, along with a whiff of tar.  Then smooth and supple but high-pitched on the palate, with dark fruit flavors complicated by menthol and leather.  Finishes with fairly sweet tannins for a second wine.  This features 80% Eisele Vineyard fruit, including 20% petit verdot
