About Belle Pente
Belle Pente, sits stunningly on a slope in the Willamette Valley’s Yamhill-Carlton district. Jill and Brian O’Donnell planted the first vineyard here in 1994, which now consists of 12 acres of Pinot Noir, two acres of both Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, and a few rows of Gamay Noir.
92 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - July/August 2011
Bright ruby-red. Intense red berry and Asian spice aromas, with a sexy potpourri quality and a hint of woodsmoke. Deeply pitched red and dark berry flavors show impressive energy and lift, picking up notes of star anise and cinnamon on the back half. Packs a punch but comes off as lithe, with very good finishing clarity and spicy persistence. Drinkable now but balanced to age.
